Corrib Beo has grown since 2018 with activities in the areas of Education, Environment, Heritage, and Recreation. Taken as a whole, Corrib Beo’s advocacy, education and cultural projects aim to re-kindle a sense of Corrib identity, to restore a sense of community pride and care for the lake.

Corrib Beo is glad to work with the members of the Corrib Catchment Partnership (including East Corrib Alliance, Cáirde an Chláir, Oughterard Anglers and others) towards the aim to protect and restore Ireland’s second largest lake and its catchment.
Oidhreacht na Coiribe/ Heritage Links:
We are working with Corrib communities and heritage groups from Annaghdown, Cong Moytura, the Corrib 471 Project, Donaghpatrick Kilcoona, Dúiche Sheoigheach, Galway, Headford, Killannin, Collinamuck, Menlo, Moycullen and Oughterard on the exhibition: “Corrib shores – This is our Place” in the Galway City Museum. It opened on 12 October and the exhibition runs until the end of November, be sure to drop in!

New projects in Education, Heritage and the ‘Farming for Water EIP’ which will start in 2025, aimed at restoring river and stream habitats.
We look forward to working with Corrib communities, agencies, educational groups and partners to achieve the vision of a restored Corrib ecosystem – as William Wilde saw it, the ‘jewel on the crown’ of the west of Ireland.
